Website Highlights
These are some site I workd on through out my career as an Ard Director. One thing about the internet is that nothing lasts for ever and sites are changed and updated to go with the times. So experience that makes you the person you are today in the internet field can be based off of sites that have long been gone. But those site taught you how to make the killer sites we make today.
http://www.bigheartcards.com is a unique service that lets anyone send a personalized, store quality greeting card anywhere in the world. This web application is built on ASP.NET 3.5 framework, SQL Server 2005 and Flash for the interactive card designer that demonstrates Cambria’s expertise in ASP.NET and Adobe Flash integration. We made use of PDF library and image manipulation tools to dynamically convert card designs created in Flash to 300dpi PDF files. It also has features such as uploading of contacts list automatically from Email clients such as MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird; integrating the web application with offline services. Finally, the site has a secured shopping cart using Authorize.net with SSL, that store clients’ payment info to Authorize.net’s server for added privacy.
http://www.homeleafs.com and (UI Dev) is the next generation of social networking built on the desire to end pre-foreclosures and bank foreclosures for good. How does it work? HomeLeafs.com is designed to bring consumers and professionals together to create positive relationships that assist consumers in times of need. Consumers create and submit a customized profile that outlines their current situation. They are then matched up with local professionals who can provide the right type of assistance. From there, consumers can choose which professionals meet their needs and start using their services immediately. It makes use of ASP.NET’s built-in membership platform, SQL Server search and Telerik RadControls.
My department developed the architecture for database, forms and overall functionality of the site. We developed a clean web 2.0 look for the site, currently the client has ability to update the site and have introduced some unattractive design elements. The sites functionality is what I would like you to concentrate on in this example. This was my first time as the “Project Manager” and Art Director.
http://www.jobbehaviors.comis a site dedicated to providing free online career compatibility assessments for a variety of high-demand industries including Healthcare, Banking, Childcare, Construction, Transportation, Retail, Insurance, Sports and Sports Management, Education and Sales. Jobseekers choose which jobs interest them, and decide whether to share their results and contact information with partners offering training and employment opportunities. JOBehaviors is also for employers to help them identify high potential candidates who meet their company’s unique performance needs. Cambria is responsible for migrating the JOBehaviors site from classic ASP to ASP.NET.
I was the client contact and lead on this project. The client had specific requests and we follow instructions and gave UI input when needed. I was the Art Director on this project and had 2 designers working with 3 programmers on the back end. I arraigned and ran weekly update meeting for the client as well as organized the tasks for the staff.
http://www.witmena.org Women in Technology is a Non-Government Organization which provides IT Training for women in the Middle East. Our design challenge was to present a multilingual and multicultural site that would tie in the organization’s work in several regions.
http://www.globalkomen.org Site CD 6 Languages
The next 3 sites are good examples of how information can be dynamically presented even without the use of animation or flash. These businesses deal with caring for the elderly, so we had to present the navigation and content clearly and intuitively.
